  • 2. Problem description

PC DVI or HDMI signal connect to 605 input, processor LCD detect valid signal and prompt 2048*1152, but when change PC graphics card output resolution, new resolution won’t take effect.

  • 3. Cause analysis

LVP 605 DVI/HDMI input port support almost all commonly used resolution below 2048*1152 from PC or TV, the preset resolution is built-in EDID of the DVI/HDMI . After connecting the graphics card DVI to 605, computer first detects the EDID data of the processor's DVI/HDMI, and graphics card generates preset resolution accordingly. The function itself is out of problem, but some new released graphics card will go the unexpected way.

Now some newer graphics cards will output images at the most fitted resolution that the processor can recognize (ie the highest 2048x1152) after reading the EDID of the LVP605. When graphics card is connected with LCD monitor and processor, in duplicated display mode, PC will always output the most optimized largest resolution 2048x1152 to processor, won’t change with the desktop resolution simultaneously.

  • 4. Solution

To solve this problem, we need to change the scaling option of the DVI/HDMI output of the graphics card and set it to a custom aspect ratio. In this mode, the graphics card will ensure that the resolution input to the processor is same as the resolution of the main monitor set by the user. Other options, such as full screen, maintain aspect ratio , middle display etc., are output at the highest resolution. The following is an example of how to set up with Intel dual graphics cards.

Setting method 1: Right-click on an empty place on the desktop, select "Graphics Options" → "Screen Fitting" → "Digital TV" → "Maintain Aspect Ratio" in the prompt menu, then DVI resolution will be in consistent with main monitor.

Setting method 2: Right-click on an empty place on the desktop, select "Graphics Properties" in the prompt menu, enter Intel graphics card control panel, under the "Display" → "General Settings" menu, select digital TV LVP605, and set the scaling option. Set to a custom aspect ratio,DVI resolution will be in consistent with main monitor.

Note: Different graphics cards may have different adjustment settings for this scaling option, if user didn’t find this setting option, please update graphics driver.
